Sharon Nagel is one half of the writing team Juneau Black and author of the Shady Hollow Mystery series. Along with her writing partner, Jocelyn Cole, she began working on this series at Boswell Book Company in 2010. When she isn’t writing or reading, Sharon works as a reference librarian at the Whitefish Bay Public Library in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin. Before attending library school, Sharon worked as an independent bookseller for 10 years. She is also a member of Sisters in Crime.

Juneau Black is the pen name of authors Jocelyn Cole and Sharon Nagel. They share a love of excellent bookshops, fine cheeses, and good murders (in fictional form only). Though they are two separate people, if you ask either of them a question about their childhood, you are likely to get the same answer. This is a little unnerving for any number of reasons.

Tara Lush is a RWA Rita finalist, an Amtrak writing fellow and the winner of the George C. Polk award for environmental journalism. She also writes contemporary romance set in tropical locations under the name Tamara Lush. For many years, she was a journalist with The Associated Press. Tara is a fan of vintage pulp fiction book covers, Sinatra-era jazz, 1980s fashion, tropical chill, kombucha, gin, tonic, seashells, iPhones, Art Deco, telenovelas, street art, coconut anything, strong coffee and newspapers. She lives on the Gulf coast with her husband and Shih Tzu.

It is a joy to head back to Boswell for a very special event celebrating the launch of  Mockingbird Court. This is the closing chapter of the Shady Hollow woodland mystery series, which began its life right here at Boswell! Everyone's favorite vulpine investigator Vera Vixen must contend with a cold-hearted killer and the ghost of her own past. Backwater Books is hosting its inaugural Patapsco Literary Festival in Old Ellicott City! Three stages will be setup throughout town to bring your engaging author discussions, children's story times, a Banned Books panel, and live music.
